Three weeks after her breathtaking wedding in New Zealand, Anne Curtis shared her wedding dress journey on Instagram–a story that many Filipinas are curious to know. After all, finding one’s dream bridal dress isn’t always the easiest thing to do. “I think as a little girl we always imagine or dream of our wedding dress and how we want it to look like… but when the day actually comes it can get quite overwhelming,” shares Anne.
My wedding dress journey 👰🏻 I think as a little girl we always imagine or dream of our wedding dress and how we want it to look like… but when the day actually comes it can get quite overwhelming…. so I want to take this opportunity to thank this amazing and gorgeous woman @moniquelhuillier for making me the most beautiful dress I’ve ever worn in my life. Thank you for making it everything I’ve ever imagined it to be and more – Ethereal, dreamy, traditional yet still fun. (Talk about confusing right?) yet Monique made my dream dress come to life. I can’t even express in words how I felt the moment you first put a veil on me and then again when I put on the dress for our last fitting. Thaaaaaaank you for making it a memorable bridal journey for me. Truly unforgettable. It took 10 months with 4 visits -with each visit the dress just blooming into life- but I felt like it went by sooooo fast… I think I’ll always feel kilig when I pass by Monique Lhullier on Melrose whenever I’m in town. Thank you again Monique. Can’t wait for my own little girl to wear this dress one day…. ❤️ Can’t believe it’s been 3 weeks already… @moniquelhuillierbride #moniquelhuillier #mlbride #custombride
According to the actress, her bridal gown was 10 months in the making and she went back and forth to Los Angeles where Monique Lhuillier–the designer behind her romantic lace dress–is based. With just four fittings, her dream “ethereal, dreamy, traditional, and fun” wedding gown became a reality. “It entailed sketch, fabric and design selection, and took hundreds of hours to bring to life. The end result is a regal, lace ball gown with a plunging sweetheart neckline, sheer long sleeves and an exaggerated, cathedral-length train with matching, hand appliqué lace veil,” shares Lhuillier on Instagram.
This beautiful soul came into our lives 10 months ago. She was committed to creating the gown of her dreams. It was very important for her to create a one of kind wedding dress that would reflect the one of a kind love she shares with her now husband. She had such a joyous spirit and was a dream to work with through her multiple meetings and fittings. It entailed sketch, fabric and design selection, and took hundreds of hours to bring to life. The end result is a regal, lace ball gown with a plunging sweetheart neckline, sheer long sleeves and an exaggerated, cathedral-length train with matching, hand appliqué lace veil. Brides like you remind me why the gown is such an important part of the wedding. Congratulations @annecurtissmith and thank you for letting me be a part of your fairytale! xM 👰🏻✨ #moniquelhuillier #weddingwednesday #mlbride #custombride #bts
Truth be told, it seems kind of nerve-wracking for a bride to have her gown made abroad, which is why it pays to do some serious research. For Anne’s case, picking Monique Lhuillier seems to be an easy choice as this designer is trusted by Hollywood stars like Brie Larson, Drew Barrymore, Cheryl Cole, and even models like Emily Ratajkowski and Miranda Kerr. True enough, the result was simply stunning.
