Teaming up with widely recognized artist Jeff Koons, Louis Vuitton is debuting a line of bags called Masters, and it showcases the iconic works of Leonardo da Vinci, Titian, Peter Paul Rubens, Jean-Honoré Fragonard and Vincent Van Gogh. Finally, it’s possible for every fashion girl and art lover to (literally) add an artistic flair to their ensembles!
Koons takes inspiration from his Gazing Ball paintings, the series where he recreated classic works like ‘Da Vinci’ and ‘Mona Lisa’ on a large scale. Each painting has an obscured reflective blue ball–adding a new perspective to the recreated masterpieces if you look closely.
The latest bags are embossed with the name of the legendary artists in reflective gold and silver lettering, reminiscent of Gazing Ball. Placing art on the French label’s classic handbags like the Speedy and the Keepall is definitely a new way of looking at these iconic artworks.
The LV x Koons collection drops in select Louis Vuitton stores starting on April 28!
