Perhaps, the most raved about shoe among women are a pair of Louboutins. The French label’s high heels are practically at the top of every fashion girl’s list of dream designer purchases. And ever since the designer took his assistant’s red nail polish to paint the plain black sole of a shoe, the coveted cherry-hued soles have become an iconic symbol in fashion.
In collaboration with Gwyneth Paltrow and her lifestyle brand “Goop”, Christian Louboutin is now creating chic shoes for babies. Playfully named “Loubibaby”, the shoes feature a classic Mary Jane silhouette, which come in colorways of glistening gold, blue satin, and coral pink, along with a handmade bow fancifully placed on the strap of each piece.
“I remember the first conversation which led us to the collaboration,” Louboutin shares with Vogue. “There is nothing that I favour more than a good tete-a-tete, and for that, Gwyneth is a great partner in crime. When friendship meets work, the results are serious fun.”
In addition to the baby shoes, the collaboration also includes four shoe designs for women created in the philosophy of Gwyneth Paltrow and Goop’s vision of elevated classic style: Konstantina, an elegant pointed toe heel with pompom details; Bow-T, a sleek black pump accented with a satin bow; Marchapp, an ankle boot with a rounded toe and stacked heel; Lovely Flat, a grey suede loafer with spike details.
The Loubibabys and Goop x Christian Louboutin is set to launch on November 16, retailing for $250, while the four new shoe designs is being sold for $795-945. All the pieces in the collaboration will be exclusively available online at Goop.com.
