Best of Instagram: Reality Check

I’m constantly inspired by a fresh point of view especially when it comes from youth. Earlier, this year, Cenon Norial III (@cenoniii) won the photography category of Mega Fashion Crew 2 Extreme Edition (MFC2). I chose him because he had such a unique take on things that I hadn’t seen before with any photographer. Throughout the competition, he consistently delivered thought-provoking images and until today, he continues to do so. In the May issue of MEGA, he collaborated with us for his third fashion editorial since winning the reality competition. We created a beautiful story on androgyny called “Boy Interrupted”. The images were so compelling. Each time I shoot with Cenon, I’m always excited to see the final output because it always exceeds expectations. In fact, the images on his camera never look like the final output. In July, he co-creates yet another editorial with the rest of the winners of MFC2 and I’m certain that will be breathtaking as well. Recently, I visited the set of the Mega Young Designers Competition All-Stars (YDC) and I was thrilled to see such a talented set of creators. The challenge that week was to create a collection inspired by a traveler going to Paris, Tokyo and New York. I was both underwhelmed and pleased at what I saw. Speaking of talented creators, I caught two of the most important people in MEGA, my beauty editor Kim Reyes-Palanca (@kimpalanca) and fashion editor Patrick Galang (@patrickrespect) at work. I was able to steal photos of them working and admiring beauty at the same time during one of our shoots. I’m sure that the two will agree with me. The reality is, you don’t have to work a day in your life if you love what you do. ~ Follow our Executive Creative Director Suki Salvador on Instagram: @sukisalvador.
