Cropped Flared Jeans: 8 Ways to Wear the Versatile Trend
Jeans will never go out of style, but we need to polish it up once in a while. It’s perpetually summer in Manila, and we believe we’ve found the holy grail of all jeans–cropped flares. They still feel like full-length jeans, but are not too long nor too short. You can wear them to work without looking frumpy or slutty. They aren’t mom-capris, and they aren’t 70s flares either. They enhance your curves, elongate your silhouette, and most importantly, they show off those skinny ankles. The best cut is just above the ankle, but you can sometimes go a couple of inches higher. Here are our favourite ways to wear them:
Grunge

Channel Kurt Cobain with frayed hems, paired with a biker jacket and messy hair

Colour Pop

Bold-coloured denim and a bold-coloured top, paired with mules for a European feel

Denim on denim

Pair your crop flares with a relaxed denim jacket and ankle boots for an urban-cowgirl vibe

Preppy

Make the most out of the ankle area by wearing socks with open-toed chunky heels

Weekend Cool

Simple, clean and crisp–wear it with a white shirt and white sneakers, like Alexa Chung does

City Slick

For running errands, cropped flares with a polished button-up and low block heels are comfy but cute

Fashionista

Play with contrasts–interesting details like a dark-washed hem and distressed fabric, paired with a structured blazer, looks effortlessly chic

Mod

Pair a turtleneck with low-block mules for a casual mod feel.
