Lately, the biggest names in Hollywood aren’t the only ones present at the Cannes Film Festival
. Social media influencers–or rather the Instagram famous–
shared the same red carpet with stars like Nicole Kidman, Bella Hadid
, Rihanna, and more.
Millennial influencers like Amanda Steele, who has over 2.7 million followers on Instagram, were flown to Cannes to walk the red carpet, and to take photos–in the name of branding, of course. Given that they speak to millions of people online, it’s almost impossible for brands not to tap them for major events like this. After all, they help build buzz about almost anything.
Alongside Amanda, Swiss blogger Kristina Bazan (who’s also 2 million-strong online) arrived at Cannes, and her ensemble was no different from a celebrity. She wore a sheer custom-made couture by Ali Karoui (the same designer responsible for Bella Hadid’s nearly naked, crystal-embellished gown), and diamonds by Chopard–no less.
With the ever-rising social media today, there seems to be endless of possibilities for every digital influencer there is. It definitely won’t be a surprise to see these online mavens in another major Hollywood event.
