Forget millennial pink. The bright Barbie shade that takes us back to our childhood years is making a bold return–only this time, it’s worn in real life. Take it from style maven Gigi Hadid who recently channeled the sweet hue in head-to-toe leather, which gave the doll-like ensemble a cool Gigi-esque twist. It may be a daring look to pull off on a regular day, but in a world where safe, neutral palettes occupy most of our wardrobes, it’s certainly refreshing to see a dash of unexpected bright pink on the streets.
Meanwhile, Zendaya brought the bold shade to the red carpet in a pink draped gown by Ralph & Russo and pink pointed heels to match. The electric hue when combined with a plunging neckline, pleated bodice, cape and thigh-high slit was a killer combo for a Barbie fashion fantasy (the only thing missing from her look was a real-life Ken doll).
We’re calling it: we’ll be seeing more of the Barbie Pink soon.
