Kylie Cosmetics VS. Fenty Beauty: Which Lipsticks Are Worth The Splurge?

2017 is undoubtedly a great year for the beauty-obsessed ladies. From Rihanna’s all skin tone-embracing Fenty Beauty to Kylie Jenner’s ever-growing Kylie Cosmetics, these beauty lines definitely sold like wildfire, especially after dropping several new products in just a span of one year. But liquid lipsticks and “gloss bombs” aside, all these labels seemed to lack one basic beauty product in their lines: lipsticks. We probably would have never noticed it (we’re too distracted by what’s available, TBH) until Rihanna and Kylie coincidentally both launched solid lipsticks this December. Yes, it’s finally happening.

If you’re currently deciding on which lipstick deserves your holiday fund, you came to the right place. Here, we broke down everything we know about Fenty Beauty and Kylie Cosmetics’ upcoming lipstick range. You’re welcome!

Fenty Beauty’s Matte Moiselle

Number of lipsticks: 14

Shades: pinks, reds, neutrals and other high-voltage hues (this includes a blue-black shade called ‘Clapback’ which the bad gal recently revealed on Instagram). Given that this is Rihanna’s brand, it should come as no surprise that we’re going to see some bold, statement-making shades.

Formulation: based on the hints the beauty mogul has been giving, it’s definitely going to be matte, which veers away from Fenty Beauty’s metallic lippies in its holiday Galaxy Collection.

Kylie Cosmetics’ ‘Silver Series’

Number of lipsticks: 20

What’s your shade? #SilverSeries lipsticks coming Dec 13 💋

Shades: peachy Dulce De Leche, chocolate Soufflé, soft muted pink Crème Brûlée, soft peachy nude Butterscotch, and more. Some of the shades are similar to the hues of her highly-raved liquid lipsticks, except it comes in a different formulation.
