For its Spring/Summer 2018 show, Lacoste leaves New York Fashion Week and heads to Paris to celebrate the French brand’s 85th anniversary. The shift is another contribution to the list of designers who have decided to ditch New York for Paris–think brands like Rodarte, Hood By Air, and Proenza Schouler. Lacoste’s creative director Felipe Oliveira Baptista shares, “It’s a homecoming, a bit of a change. I will miss coming to New York”.
“This event illustrates the brand’s desire to capitalize on its legacy and highlights the very nature of its DNA, namely, effortless French elegance”, he further states in a press release. However, even if the brand is moving cities this season, we can surely expect spectacular pieces that stay true to the spirit of Lacoste’s sportswear signature.
