Making Mega: 4 Continents in 4 Years

Four years ago, MEGA came up with a genius idea for its September cover: create a spectacle out of the magazine-making process and share it with the public.

To make a spectacle out of something, it has to be exciting enough. And what’s more exciting than flying out to South America with the country’s biggest star? Making MEGA: Anne Curtis in South America was a hit. Not only was it the thickest and most ambitious issue in the history of the magazine (400+ pages), it had its own comprehensive behind-the-scenes documentary. A tradition was born. Sept2013-issue-MEGA   Since Anne’s 2013 cover, MEGA has followed up with beautiful September covers shot all over the globe.

2014: Erich Gonzales, Julia Barretto, Kathryn Bernardo, and Maja Salvador in South Africa

2014: Vice Ganda in Japan

For 2016, MEGA upped the ante by doing three covers of the country’s hottest love teams. The idea for the awesome threesome was born out of a leaked news story about JaDine being MEGA’s September cover–the rabid fans of the other two big love teams actually requested for their own covers! True enough, the 2016 series has been the most followed in Making Mega’s history. The first two love teams have just wrapped up their shoots (click on the links to check them out).

2016 September: JaDine in Greece

2016 October: AlDub in Morocco

Next month, it’s Kathniel’s turn to shoot with the auroras of Iceland.

Making Mega has been conquering the map in style. Four continents in four years and counting!
