#MEGAFashionWeekSS18: Everything You Need To Know

The Philippines’ first fashion glossy, MEGA, is the output of a visionary. As proven throughout history, the products of true visionaries carry an innovative spirit. Being not only the first, but the best, is a mindset that CEO and President of One Mega Group Sari V. Yap and the entire team has held for 25 years (and counting!). From the launch of MEGA StoriesMEGA Millennial Ball, and Making MEGA, the celebration of the country’s best fashion magazine continues with the MEGA Fashion Week.

The fashion week goes back to MEGA’s DNA of championing Filipino designers. Back in 1994, Yap had the idea to create a competition called the MEGA Young Designers Competition (YDC) as a platform for emerging talents where they can showcase their work.

The winning young designer gets a spread in the magazine, a school fund, and a participation in events like the MEGA Pinoy Pride Ball where global designers are being honored. These events and projects are all part of MEGA’s initiative to support local fashion.

This year, MEGA goes back to that zeitgeist by mounting the magazine’s very first venture into fashion week, as they showcase the evolution of established designers. Participating in MEGA Fashion Week are 5 of the country’s top designers such as Rajo Laurel, John Herrera, Puey Quiñones, Francis Libiran, and Mark Bumgarner.

MEGA Fashion Week kicks off on Monday, October 23 at The Penthouse Twenty-Four Seven. Stay tuned for more updates!
