MEGA Fashion Week S/S ’18: Francis Libiran

Moments before the show, Francis Libiran shared that he is very excited to be a part of this groundbreaking event. That excitement is almost tangible in his collection entitled Somerset, which is inspired by women who likes exploring different destinations.

This #MegaFashionWeekSS18 shows a different side of Francis Libiran and his creations. Taking an unexpected departure from red carpet gowns, blacks and whites, and the precision cutouts that he’s known for, Francis Libiran surprised us with pastel hues and bright jewel tones. Light and loose clothing that aren’t form-fitting are what Francis wants to surprise people with for his show. His architectural influences are still prominent but differently executed—with Francis choosing digital prints instead of panels, cutouts or embroidery. Wrap tops, billowing skirts, and cigarette pants are some of the key looks for this collection, as the designer focuses on its wearability.

For this 40-piece collection, Francis showed the whole gamut of his perspective as a designer, captivating the audience with his signature aesthetic that still never fails to surprise. When asked what his favorite piece from the collection is, Francis admits that it’s difficult to choose. Even as an audience member, we can’t help but feel the same way with all the looks winning us over.
