In the second episode of MEGA Fashion Crew, the remaining contestants were tasked to create a professional hair campaign fit for none other than elite hair-care brand L’Oreal Paris. The stakes were high as the winning team got a beauty spread on MEGA Magazine’s August issue. To determine the most deserving out of all the 10 teams, Sep Cimafranca, product manager for L’Oreal Paris, lent his expert advice as well as his time as guest judge for the day.
Some teams gave hair-raising performances, while others fell short of gloss. With this Megastyle exclusive, we talk to Ira Giorgetti (photographer), Janno Novenario (fashion stylist), and Bjorn Bedayo (photographer).
Ira Giorgetti is an aspiring photographer who’s well driven by passion and is an intellectual at heart. This young creative knows four languages and is equally as fluent in the art of photography. Janno Novenario on the other hand is a University of Santo Tomas alumni who’s eye for styling has developed through his years of hard work and dedication. And lastly, Bjorn Bedayo is a freelance fashion photographer currently taking up his studies at the DLS-CSB.

Do you think that you deserve to be eliminated?
“Yes, I think I deserved to be eliminated in that challenge. I wasn't at my 100% and I was full of complaints and negative thoughts, and furthermore I was not able to take the helm as leader of the team so I allowed make-up and hair to consume most of the 2 hours given without giving much thought to the time I would need to actually shoot.”
What can we expect from you after this? What are your plans?
“Well now that it's been a couple of months since I got eliminated, I haven't been working as hard on my photography since the first semester of BA Film at UP is proving to be quite time consuming but I'm trying my best to keep my creative and academic aspects well rounded. I've had a couple of shoots with the friends I’ve made at MEGA and the photos have come out stunning. I plan to regroup and focus my attention towards the basics of the art before making any bigger leaps forward, since I think I need to master these basic principles a bit more before joining another competition.”

Janno Novenario
If you could do the challenge over, what would you do differently?
“Probably more pegging, better materials, more time. But other than that - nothing. Though the judges felt like we were not able to achieve what we have set for ourselves, in all honesty, I would probably still do everything the same. No regrets.”
What can we expect from you after this? What are your plans?
“I have learned a lot from this show and one of which is to never give up and always give everything your best. I know there are still a lot to learn. I am currently working as a freelance stylist - trying to make a name for myself in this industry. I've been working on a couple of magazine covers and editorials... for TV too. Hopefully I'd get to work with Mega not long from now. :)

Bjorn Bedayo
Do you think that you deserve to be eliminated?
“I feel like I am really not in the position to answer the question because I do not know what my fellow contestants presented in the panel and how much they put into making them. I did not expect to be eliminated this early because I know that I am very passionate about the competition and I have a lot more to show to Mega. I know that everything happens for a reason. I am just grateful for the opportunity that Mega Fashion Crew gave me. And for me, my biggest accomplishment in the show is that I was able to meet fifty-nine very talented individuals who I now consider as family.”
What can we expect from you after this? What are your plans?
“It’s how you get back up when you fall down that matters – this is one of the greatest life lessons that I’ve learned throughout the years. Nothing can stop me from my passion and I am determined to succeed in this industry no matter how many times I fall down. We constantly upgrade ourselves and that is what I am doing as of the moment. I am learning in each shoot that I do. You can expect nothing but a better Bjorn every time you see me. And as I would always say it, carpe diem, just live your life to the fullest!”
MEGA believes that these aspiring artists have more to offer the fashion industry, so we’re keeping an eye on them.
