For years, Saint Laurent has been known to be a trailblazer on grungy, cool-girl experimentalism, particularly with footwear. Since Anthony Vaccarello took over as the creative director of the French fashion house, Saint Laurent has been serving us with fanciful shoes that have been causing quite the buzz on social media. Remember the gravity-defying roller skate heels? It were reminiscent of the roller girl fantasy, worthy of a spot in a John Hughes film with a galaxy twist.
Now, for Saint Laurent’s Spring/Summer 2018 line, the fashion house tells a story against the glistening view of the Eiffel Tower. Duchesse satin, glitter dresses, and ostrich feathers took center stage and most of all, boots sauntered down the catwalk. The biggest star of the line, however, was thigh-high yeti boots that reminded us of the abominable snowman. Dainty feathers decorated the skin-skimming pair and it featured sleek sky-high heels.
The heels proved to be quite the sensuous piece as it were paired with black dresses and bodysuits. These boots are hard to miss and will certainly take ‘statement-making’ to another level. With Spring fashion in mind, it only begs the question: how adventurous are you willing to go with your style?
