With shades that go from nudes, crimsons to fuschias, we can’t deny that playing around with lipsticks can be seriously satisfying. But when our schedule is packed with meetings and never-ending to-do lists, the last thing we need is a red pout that easily fades after a few sips of caffeine. Who has the time (and patience) for constant reapplication, anyway?
Luckily, painting our lips no longer have to feel like a chore. We recently tried out a time-saving layering trick, and we’re definitely not turning back. You should too!
Layer # 1: Lip primer
Given that you’ll be layering lip products (not to mention matte liquid lipsticks), it’s only right that you prep your puckers for a smooth glide ahead. To give it a boost of moisture, dab this serum-like, lip moisturizer on the lips, which creates a plump effect too. Pro tip: if your lips are feeling a little drier than the usual, buff away those flakes using a toothbrush.
Layer # 2: Long-lasting liquid lipstick
Consider this as your perfect lip base. Even if your top coat of lipstick fades after a few sips of champagne, you’ll always be left with a nice flush on the lips, thanks to the budge-proof formula of liquid lipsticks.
Layer # 3: Lipstick
Finally, for a fool-proof combo, apply lipstick as you normally would. We recommend those that have a creamy finish for added dimension and shine!
