This 90s Accessory Trend Is Making A Comeback

The 90s was a grand period for fashion. Cher Horowitz, in particular, started the craze of knee-high socks in the über-stylish film Clueless. Soon after, Britney Spears approved the trend as she sported it on her Baby One More Time music video. Since then, the leg-hugging hosiery has become a fashion girl staple.

Now, it’s making a comeback for Spring/Summer 2018 as designers like Dior have incorporated the cool piece into their luxurious garbs.

Ahead, we’ve listed down five tips on how to pull off wearing knee-high socks IRL!

In true Clueless fashion, wear a mesh hosiery with tartan separates. To keep that 90s vibe without sacrificing comfort, swap your heels for a pair of platform creepers.

Despite the chilly temps, the cool girls in New York still love their mini dresses every Fall. Subtly warm up your legs with black knee-high socks.

Replicate the spirit of vintage Parisian dressing with a bold beret and a matching bold top. Finish off the look with a pair of stark white striped socks and patent brogues.

To keep up with the athleisure trend, wear a pair of sporty knee high socks, velvet skirt, and chunky zip-up boots. Take a page from the Fall catwalk and bundle up in a puffer jacket to finish the look.

Perhaps, the most fool-proof look is an all-black ensemble (just ask all the New York girls!). A button-down can easily be elevated with a leather skirt and socks that go up to the thighs. Add more to textured look with metallic oxfords.
