This Is How MEGA Celebrates Independence Day

FDG

Every year, it has been a tradition for MEGA magazine to celebrate Independence day with the best of the best in our nation. But only this time, MEGA is shaking things up by highlighting the young and the innovative–the millennials. Young stars, designers, models, and social media mavens came together, no matter what industry they are in, to celebrate as one. Hosted at the City of Dreams Manila, the attendees arrived in locally-designed ensembles, flaunting their own modern take on the traditional Filipino costume.

The evening kicked into full swing with an introduction by Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa and Mega magazine’s Editor-In-Chief. Peewee Reyes-Isidro.

6The annual Pinoy pride celebration won’t be complete without recognizing today’s game-changers. The three beauty queens who have served us with Filipino pride Pia Wurtzbach, Kylie Verzosa and Megan Young, opened the segment, reminding us of the real purpose of love, hope and courage.

Representing love for Fashion, renowned designers Mark Bumgarner, Patty Ang and John Herrera showcased their signature creations that have won the world over. From Mark Bumgarner’s ball gown that was worn by an Indian actress at Cannes to John Herrera’s winning printed creations, the collections were a sight to see. On the other hand, hope represented the Filipinos who have reached out for the greater good. And to cap off the night, today’s millennial game changers in the likes of Kim Jones, Anne Curtis, Andi Manzano and more were recognized for their courage to voice out their opinions online, influencing many Filipinos today.

Of course, the celebration continued all throughout the night with guests toasting to their cocktails at the Grey Goose bar.
