THE BEST STYLES FOR YOUR FACE SHAPE FROM SOME OF OUR FAVORITE BRANDS
by Sarah Santiago
We love a good pair of sunglasses. The kind that not only protects our face and pretty little eyes from sunlight (and conceals a major hangover from the night before), but the right pair that flatters our features and makes us feel like a million bucks or at least like the saucy and irreverent Carine Roitfeld. So here’s a guide to finding the best eyecessory for the holiday season and beyond just for you!
The Olsen twins, Kate Bosworth, Emma Stone
A round shaped face is the best canvas for frames with angular silhouettes like a pair of oversized rectangular sunglasses. Fashion’s insouciantly cool twins Mary-Kate and Ashley always make a stylish statement in theirs, so who are contest?
Scarlett Johansson, Audrey Tatou, Angelina Jolie
Heart shaped faces feature a broad forehead, high cheekbones and a small chin. Your best bet is to find a silhouette that balances out the varying widths of your face, like say, a pair of chic aviators.
Olivia Palermo, Victoria Beckham, Beyonce
Square and rectangular framed sunglasses are the perfect contrast to the curvatures of an oval face. Try a modern cat-eye for a change, but make sure the size (as with any shape) is neither too small nor too large because it will throw off the face’s natural balance.
Rihanna, Natalie Portman, Gwyneth Paltrow
Sunglasses with rounded edges and curved lines soften the sharp angles of a rectangular or square face. Try on retro circular frames for a look that’s nonchalantly stylish.
