Tom Ford has always been known for being quite the visionary. Unbeknownst to some, the famed designer is also a cinematic virtuoso, having directed Oscar-nominated films like A Single Man and psychological-thriller hit, Nocturnal Animals. But most of all, he made his mark as a fashion mastermind after being the creative director of Gucci and Saint Laurent, which was soon followed by the launch of his own line in 2004. Tom Ford has cemented himself and his brand as an icon in menswear.
But one of the aspects where he really excels at is being able to captivate people with luxe scents. His line of fragrances has been a staple in every high-end perfume enthusiast’s collection–think classics like the summery Soleil Blanc, the warm and spicy Anthracite, and the ever-favorite Velvet Orchid. Now, the 56-year-old film and fashion savant is adding more fragrances to his robust line of scents and it’s very colorfully named.
Just a few days ago, the powerhouse brand unveiled “F*cking Fabulous”, their latest fragrance with key notes of almond bitter oil, tonka resinoid, orris accord, cashmeran, leather accord and clary sage oil. Basically, it’s sultriness in a bottle with woody elements.
The name might sound bold and gaudy but the packaging presents an interesting contrast with its minimalistic, sleek black-and-white bottle, featuring a stark sans serif label and lavish leather atomizer.
The limited edition scent will launch on the 7th of September, the day after Tom Ford’s Spring/Summer 2018 show at New York Fashion Week and will be sold in Tom Ford boutiques and online at tomford.com, retailing for $310 for 50 ml and $495 for the leather atomizer because smelling “f*cking fabulous” to the extreme comes with a strong price tag.
