Ugh, perfect–World Health Day is here to remind us to get off the couch and out of our sweatpants. But they’re right–health is one of the most important areas to invest on. Everything you do is dependent on how well your system and your mind functions.
We occasionally (or often) get into a deep slump, moments where you just feel heavy, bloated, lazy, and moody. Moments where even the longest sleep or the best massage don’t help. It would be nice to hit the refresh button, and we think we’ve found the closest thing to it–a 3-day green detox.
It sounds tedious, and it is–because the point is to break the cycle, to shock your system enough so you get that emotional jolt to live a better life. Detoxing is tricking your brain into thinking that you are a new woman.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN
Day 1: Everything feels good and zany. We don’t miss eating at all. Already, we feel so healthy. Day 2: Hunger starts creeping. If only we could grab just a little bite of that bread–but no, we will fight a good fight. Day 3: The sight of a hard-boiled egg is making us drool. But wow, we lost so much weight! We’re hungry, but less hungry than we were on Day 2–we think our body is getting the hang of it. Day after the cleanse: It’s over? We wish we can go longer! We feel so FRESH!
You’ll be consuming only 1000 calories/day for 3 days (women typically consume at least 1,400), so it should be done only 3 days maximum, once every 3 months. We lost 3 pounds in 3 days, but we know it’s mostly water weight. What’s important was, after the cleanse, we stopped craving our favorite junk like sugar, simple carbs, and grease. We still craved meat, but meat is good. Our energy level shot through the roof–we felt light, happy, and, well, clean.
NOTE: After the cleanse, start by eating small portions so as not to shock your system.
